The Nabataean Empire's most famous ruins are rock-carved temples in the capital, Petra. Struck in that ancient city under Aretas IV. Aretas IV controlled Damascus when the apostle Paul was converted while traveling there. He was also the only Nabataean king mentioned in the New Testament.
